A first session at Santino Bros
A student’s 2008 training recollection: running, bodyweight work, and a demanding introduction.
Also called: Kaos · Ray Mejia · conditioning · pushups
A dated account
Writing on the school’s blog in September 2009, Ray Mejia recalls his first class in late 2008. He describes stretching, a one-mile run, and a warm-up led by Kaos that included push-ups, squats, lunges, and crunches. He also describes grappling and circuit stations.
The post does not give a reliable repetition count for each exercise. We therefore do not turn it into a “100 of everything” routine.
Read it critically
The account includes severe exhaustion and vomiting. Those details describe the writer’s experience; they are not training goals. A historical school journal can document what happened without supplying an appropriate plan for another person.
Before your first class
Editorial preparation: ask the school what the current introductory session involves, what equipment to bring, and how students communicate discomfort or stop an exercise. Tell the coach about relevant limitations before training starts.
After class
Write down one piece of feedback and the next task your coach assigns. Progress is more useful to track than a comparison with a dramatic first-day story.
