Rope work, spacing, and traffic

Use a drawing of a ring to mark the paths in a short exchange your coach selects.

Also called: running ropes · footwork · ring positioning · traffic

Source foundation

PPW groups rope work with speed control, ring positioning, spacing, and timing on page 1.

Study drill

Use a drawing of a ring to mark the paths in a short exchange your coach selects. Identify where paths meet and where the referee needs a clear view. Bring that map to the coach before any physical rope drill.

This is an editorial observation exercise based on the source, not a drill claimed to have been published by that school.

Check your understanding

Are both performers describing the same route? What signal means stop or reset?

Pitfall to discuss

More speed does not solve uncertain spacing. Do not add a leapfrog, drop-down, or collision to a route that has not been agreed and supervised.

Training log prompt

Write one sentence each: what you were trying to understand, what the coach corrected, and what you will revisit next session. Let your coach set any physical repetitions.
