Arm drag

A quick change of position whose clarity depends on both performers.

Also called: armdrag · arm-drag takeover

The reference

The demonstration presents an arm drag from a lock-up, with a turning transfer into the receiving wrestler’s fall.

Prerequisites to discuss

Your coach should approve the receiving movement, partner timing, and reset before the exchange is combined with anything else.

What to observe

Watch the relationship between the lead-in and the receiver’s response. Does the direction change read clearly from the audience side?

Pitfalls & coaching questions

Pulling harder is not a substitute for coordinated timing. Do not add a running approach because a match clip uses one; study the coached variant first.

These prompts are editorial. Watch the original demonstration with a qualified coach, ask what the camera leaves out, and use the coach’s progression for physical practice. Our difficulty labels organize the library; they are not a school qualification.
